One programme, built around two different needs for secondary school students

Two tracks, one programme — built for every Secondary student coming out of year-end exams. Whether your child needs to rebuild confidence or wants a head start on next year, there’s a track for them. Two tracks depending on what your child needs this holiday.

Track A
Reboot & Rebuild

Strengthen your child’s foundations in preparation for their next level. Through clear explanations and targeted practice, they’ll rebuild confidence, reinforce key concepts, and start the new school year ready to take on new challenges.

This is for Sec 1 → Sec 2 , Sec 2 → Sec 3 and Sec 3 → Sec 4 students.

Track B
Head Start

For students who want a head start, we preview next year’s syllabus so they can enter Term 1 in January feeling prepared, confident, and ready to learn.

This is for Sec 1 → Sec 2 and Sec 3 → Sec 4 students.

What Parents Say

Parents tell us the biggest change isn’t only in the marks, it’s in the mindset. Families describe children who “regain their confidence in maths”, start enjoying their lessons as. They also value the 1-1 personal attention: as one parent put it, “the teachers really cater to the students’ needs”, going through answers one-by-one and giving detailed feedback on progress afterwards.

    Led by Dr Ng

Our courses are led by Dr Ng (ex-MOE Math Professor) 📚✨

With 18 years of teaching experience, Dr Ng is our Head Teacher and the mathematician behind our highest-level classes. He holds a Ph.D. in Mathematics and a 1st Class Honours in B.Sc. Mathematics from NUS.

As a former MOE-trained educator and SUSS Mathematics Professor, he has an in-depth understanding of the MOE Math curriculum and exam system. He has also written and graded MOE exams.

And the results speak for themselves — in 2024, his O-Level and A-Level students achieved an outstanding average grade improvement of 2.08 grades.

    “

I am Sec 3, and Dr Ng has really helped make me feel more confident in doing Math! My grades have remained consistently at A1 as well, and I am very grateful. ❤️ The Math Lab also has a really conducive environment for learning that really helps!

Coming to this tuition has made me extremely confident in my Math abilities. Dr Ng helps me understand questions that I don't know how to do well. This, in turn, allows me to achieve As in all my Math exams.

    “

I’m a JC2 student this year, and The Math Lab has helped me a lot with Maths. Mr Ng has helped me clearly understand many difficult questions and allowed me to be more confident in Maths as I approach my A Levels.

    Track A: Reboot & Rebuild

    Intro
Strong results start with strong foundations. This track revisits the key topics your child has covered this year, with clear explanations and focused practice, so each concept connects smoothly to what comes next. Students rebuild confidence one step at a time and start the new year ready.

    Topics Covered

Sec 1 moving into Sec 2 next year (E Math)
Algebra, linear equations, number patterns, percentage, ratio, rate, angles, polygons, area, perimeter, volume

Sec 2 moving into Sec 3 next year (E Math)
Identities, quadratic expressions, algebraic fractions, direct and inverse proportion, congruent and similar figures, trigonometric ratios, surface area and volume, probability

Sec 3 moving into Sec 4 next year (E Math)
Quadratic expressions and graphs, further trigonometry, applications of trigonometry, coordinate geometry, congruency and similarity, circular measure, angle properties of circles

Sec 3 moving into Sec 4 next year (A Math)
Quadratic expressions and graphs, coordinate geometry, circles, trigonometry (Chapter 1), exponential and logarithmic functions, linear law

    Track A Objectives

    • Strengthen the core concepts from this year so they link smoothly to next year’s topics
    • Build confidence by working through each topic step by step, with clear explanations
    • Sharpen accuracy, working and problem-solving habits through focused practice
    • Begin the new school year feeling prepared and settled

    Track B Head Start

    Intro
Make January feel familiar. This track gives students an early look at next year’s topics, taught carefully and at a comfortable pace, so the first lessons of the new term build on something they already know. It suits students who want to get ahead.

    Topics Covered

Sec 1 moving into Sec 2 next year
Simultaneous linear equations, inequalities, expansion and factorisation

Sec 3 moving into Sec 4 next year (E Math)
Set theory, probability of combined events

Sec 3 moving into Sec 4 next year (A Math)
    Differentiation and its applications

    Track B Objectives

    • Introduce next year’s key topics early, so they feel familiar when school begins
    • Build a solid first understanding of new concepts before the school pace picks up
    • Develop confidence in approaching unfamiliar problems
    • Help students start Term 1 with a head start

A Look Inside Our Class Materials

    Introduction

Here is a sample of the notes and practice we use in class: four worksheets from our Sec 4 G3 Additional Mathematics Differentiation set, part of the Head Start track. Each has clear notes, fully worked examples, graded exercises and complete solutions. Download them to see the standard and style of what your child will work with.

    What’s inside

Part 1: Differentiation Techniques (37 questions)
Basic differentiation, then the chain, product and quotient rules, finishing with tangents and normals. This is the toolkit the rest of the topic depends on.
Part 2: Rates of Change (37 questions)
How differentiation describes change over time, such as a balloon losing air or water filling a cone. Covers connected rates of change and problems using similar triangles.
Part 3: Maxima and Minima (54 questions)
Increasing and decreasing functions, stationary points, and the first and second derivative tests. Ends with “find the greatest or least value” problems, a common exam type.
Part 4: Trigonometric, Logarithmic and Exponential Functions (57 questions)
Extends the earlier ideas to sin, cos, tan, ln and e^x, including tangents, rates of change and stationary points.

    How we use them

    • Notes first, then practice: every section opens with worked examples that show each step.
    • Graded questions: exercises build gradually, so confidence grows before the harder problems.
    • Complete solutions: students can check their method as well as their answer.
    • Used in class and at home: the teacher works through key examples in the lesson, then students practise at their own pace.
